Merlin in Production at Barkston Plastics

Leeds-based plastics fabricator and distributor, Barkston Plastics are currently reaping the benefits of their recent upgrade to Merlin Windows.

Indeed, having previously only used the Merlin Dataflex Production System, Barkston Plasticschose to implement the whole suite of Merlin Windows integrated Accounting, Stock Control, Order Processing and Production Modules. This now means that Merlin provides a single, fully integrated system for all departments of this diverse and progressive business across its four locations in the North of England.

Always on the look-out for new opportunities to innovate, the engineering team at Barkston are using Merlin Production Control to manage a number of exciting and cutting-edge projects. Indeed, Barkston have co-operated with one of their customers to pioneer the manufacture of a new fire engine product using a material called Polybilt, the benefits of which are safer, lighter, stronger and more durable fire engines.

The financial advantages of vehicles made using Polybilt include lower running costs and a remarkably long operational life of up to 40 years. With recyclable raw materials, and Merlin’s Waste Control Module, Barkston Plastics are doing their little bit for the planet.
